Dig A Little NW1 (June 2015) – Mr Boogie…

Tito Rodriguez - Live At Birdland

Latin specialist and all round excellent DJ Mr Boogie AKA The Vinyl Junkie of meltingpot fame joined us at our Camden session at the end of June, and he certainly didn’t disappoint setting the Forge alight with a tough and dance floor friendly mix of hardcore Latin rhythms. Dipping into the explosive sounds of early 60’s New York and beyond, his set perfectly articulated the point where Latin music meets Jazz, blending tunes from the likes of Tito Rodriguez, Machito, José Mangual Jr, Beny More and the Alegre All Stars, while even finding time to include a pair of traces from French vocal jazz troupe Le Double Six. In fact we loved it so much, we invited him back this Sunday for more of the same, as he drops some tunes before, after and in-between the live band sets. We hope you enjoy the music and thank you for listening!

Dig A Little NW1 (June 2015) – Oliver Brunetti,…

Stelvio Cipriani - Mark II Poliziotto

The second set from our June Dig A Little in Camden is a joint effort from Colectivo Futuro‘s Oliver Oliver Brunetti and DJ Porncop, who not only blessed us with a few crates of vinylto sell on the day, but also took their turn behind the decks with some exemplary tunes. Drifting from obscure soundtracks to Brazilian bossa, modern soul and fun oddities, the pair treated our ears to a killer selection of vinyl only gems that had all in attendance full of praise. If you missed it, you can now dip into the selection above, and if you want to catch up with the lads in person, pop along to our next meet up at The Forge in NW1 on Sunday 26th July! Thanks for listening.
