This weekend we make our debut at the Forest Gate Festival, the annual street fest in Osborne Road, E7 that is now in its fifteenth year. Weather permitting, we’ll be setting up the decks and (small) PA outside from 11am as we bring the local crowd an assortment of sights, sounds and selectors all day. Signed up for the day session so far are Dig A Little residents Digger Dan and Rob Coley who are joined by special guests Gary’s Gardens and Terry Benjamin while we’ve managed to tempt our sometime reggae don Gabs out of his house too. It’s not just all about us however, the event is organised for the community with plenty of other things around to be enjoyed. There’s reportedly around 90 stalls signed up for the stretch, with an abundance of food and drink, vinyl(!), art, children’s goods, antiques and books all available to peruse and purchase on the day. As well as our humble corner, there will also be a larger stage featuring music from a host of local artists as well as a rumoured Samba Parade, street theatre, climbing wall, bouncy castle and various other arts and crafts.
In the evening we’ll be moving the system down to the road to the nearby Golden Fleece on Capel Road for a little post festival carry on. Running 7pm till 10pm in the pub’s garden (again weather permitting), Dan, Rob and Gary will be pulling out a Saturday night vinyl only selection for the Manor Park revellers! If you’re in the area, feel free to pop by either session!
